This week: The baby measured just over 7 pounds this week! The baby is continuing to practice his breathing, sucking on his thumb, blinking, and pivoting from side to side. It won't be too long before he will be doing these things for real!
Weight gain: +2, Total weight gain, +26. I'm starting to get a little nervous about this! I really have been watching what I eat and exercising on a regular basis, but I still continue to gain weight!
How I'm feeling: I still feel great! However, this week I have had a little swelling in my feet and ankles. When I took my shoes off on Tuesday, I thought to myself, "Are those MY feet?!" I'm hoping that propping my feet up in the evenings will help it to disappear!
We had another ultrasound this week! Our baby still looks great! She was able to see hair on his head and we got to see him moving his lips! She (the ultrasound tech) thinks that he is going to be a big baby! He is measuring in the 89 percentile overall. His head was 68%, legs 87%, and abdomen 98%. His abdomen was only 52% six weeks ago, so that's a huge change! I still don't know how it's possible for him to be measuring so big! Adam was 7 pounds even and I was 7.6. Even our parents and siblings were under the 8 pound mark. The doctor acted like he doesn't put a lot of weight into the ultrasound measurements. However, he said that we would do another scan at 39 weeks, and if he's still measuring that big, then we will discuss the option of a c-section. Let's hope that this is one of those times that the ultrasound is wrong! At this rate, he will be over 9 pounds at birth! I just can't imagine giving birth to a 9 pound baby!
