One Year Old!!!!

Weight-19.1 pounds/20%ile (up from 18.8 pounds at 11 months)

Length-29.5 inches/50%ile

Clothes-9-12 months

Diapers-size 3

Eating-Every 3 hours.  Since I am nursing her we don't really know how much she is eating.  She still eats for about 8-10 minutes at a time.  She still takes milk at 8, 12, 5, and 8. She also eats a veggie at 12, a fruit at 2, and 3-4 ounces of cereal at 7. We have introduced her to puffs, but they are hit or miss. Sometimes she likes them, sometimes she doesn't! Sometimes she acts like she is going to gag on them. However, she prefers her baby food over her milk! I think it's going to be an easy transition to table food...but we'll see!

Sleep-Anna is sleeping between 11-12 hours at night!  She is also taking 2 naps a day.  She takes a morning nap for about 1-1.5 hours and then an afternoon nap for about 2-2.5 hours.  We are still swaddling her (with her arms out) for naps and night time.  As soon as you put her in the swaddle, she puts her thumb in her mouth!  She knows that it's time to go to sleep!

Other-Anna has been pretty sick this month! We started the month off with a UTI. Then, she picked up a cold from her brother. Hopefully all of the sickness is behind us!

Anna loves to play, especially peek-a-boo! She even initiates the game by herself. She will find a towel or blanket and hold it up over her face. When she pulls it down, she wants you to say peek-a-boo, then she laughs and laughs!

Anna still only has her bottom two teeth, however, her top two teeth are just about ready to pop through (in fact they did come through just a few days after she turned one). It's obvious that she's going to have a HUGE gap in between her top two teeth. Her brother has a slight gap, but her's is going to be even worse! I'm just hoping that they aren't buck teeth (they kind of look like it through the gums).

Anna is pulling up on everything! It won't be long before she's trying to take a few steps. She's making me a little nervous how much she is standing up. Ethan was definitely not doing that at 12 months!

We are having Anna's first birthday party the Saturday after her birthday. The theme is Winter Onederland! It's going to be really cute. Since she won't get her cake until her party we let her have a few bites of chocolate pudding on her actual birthday. She LOVED it! I couldn't feed her more bites fastest enough. I think this girl is going to have a huge sweet tooth like her mommy!

11 Months

Weight-18.8 pounds (up from 18.0 pounds at 10 months)

Length-??? inches

Clothes-6-9 months

Diapers-size 3

Eating-Every 3 hours.  Since I am nursing her we don't really know how much she is eating.  She still eats for about 8-10 minutes at a time.  We have phased out her 2:00 feeding. She now takes milk at 8, 12, 5, and 8. She also eats a veggie at 12, a fruit at 2, and 3-4 ounces of cereal at 7.

Sleep-Anna is sleeping between 11-12 hours at night!  She is also taking 2-3 naps a day.

Other-Anna can crawl! She finally figured out how to make her self go! She's also figured out how to get on her knees and pull up on things. Ethan never really pulled up on furniture or in his crib, so this is a whole new world for us! We've had to lower her crib because she likes to get on her knees and watch for Mommy!

Anna celebrated her first Thanksgiving! This year we spent the day with family at Aunt Sherry and Uncle Paul's house in Indiana. It was a fun day, however, Anna is going through a bit of separation anxiety and it took her a while to warm up to everyone! By the end of the day she was playing with everyone and would even let others hold her! Grammy and PawPaw really enjoyed watching her and Ethan.

Anna also had several visits with Santa this month! Her first visit was at Bass Pro Shop and she was memorized by everything in the Santa scene! We were able to get a really cute picture of her and Ethan (who loved visiting Santa and told me that Santa was really cute as we left!). The second two visits didn't go so well. She wasn't scared of him, she just didn't want Mommy to put her down (back to the separation anxiety). Ethan couldn't get enough of Santa this year. He really understands everything related to Christmas and was really excited about Santa!

10 Months

Weight-18.0 pounds (up from 17.5 at 9 months)

Eating-Every 3 hours.  Since I am nursing her we don't really know how much she is eating.  She still eats for about 8-10 minutes at a time.  She is currently taking a bottle at 8, 11, 2, 5, and 8 every day. She also eats an entire serving of a fruit and a veggie and 2-3 ounces of cereal. She really loves her baby food! She would much rather have that than her milk, which is completely opposite from  her brother at that age!

Sleep-Anna is sleeping between 11-12 hours at night!  She is also taking 2-3 naps a day.

Other-Anna has another tooth! It's also on the bottom! She's been having a really hard time with teething. About a week before her tooth comes in she has several restless nights of sleep. This second tooth has come in really fast too. It's almost as tall as the first tooth that came in a month ago.

This month Anna also had her first ear infection. It was hard to tell what was going on because the only symptom she had was a high fever and she was incredibly grumpy. It was an incredibly trying day for Mommy!

During Anna's ten month she took part in her first Halloween. We picked out Ethan's Halloween costume last year, Yoda, and decided to dress Anna as Princess Leia! They were a pretty cute duo! Although it was extremely rainy and cold on Halloween, Anna still had a good time being around other people!

Anna still isn't crawling yet, but she's really close. She swims every where! She can also get on her knees and rock back and forth. It won't be too much longer before she figures it all out! She can also go from laying down to sitting up all on her own. She thinks she's pretty big stuff!

Other-Anna has her first tooth! It's on the bottom (if you're looking at her it's the one on the right). We found the tooth as we were leaving for a shopping trip with Gigi and Aunt Katlynne. I think Ethan was more excited about her first tooth than Mommy was! He couldn't wait to tell Gigi and Aunt Katlynne about it!

This month was also a month of several firsts for Anna. At the beginning of the month she attended her first wedding! She was so good during the ceremony! She also had her picture taken several times. She knew just what to do every time she saw the camera! This month she also went to her first circus (it was Ethan's first time at the circus too). She really enjoyed watching all of the different acts. It really kept her attention!

8 Months

Weight-17.0 pounds (with her clothes on)

Length-??? inches

Clothes-3-6 months

Eating-Every 3 hours.  Since I am nursing her we don't really know how much she is eating.  She still eats for about 8-10 minutes at a time.  Anna has recently started becoming more difficult to feed at 11:00.  I think she's filling up on her milk and fruit at 8:00, and she's not hungry yet at 11:00.  We've still been offering it to her, but she usually only eats around 1-2 ounces.  She devours her veggie at 12:00 though!  She also takes her 2:00 bottle really well.  We might start trying to merge the 11:00 and 2:00 bottle.  I don't want to reduce the amount of milk that she's drinking during the day, but I also hate to waste a bottle if she's not interested in eating it!  It takes too much effort to pump and freeze milk that I definitely don't want to see it go to waste!!!

Sleep-Anna is sleeping between 11-12 hours at night!  She is also taking 2-3 naps a day.  The first two naps are usually around 1.5-2 hours.  She usually takes a cat nap in the evening for about 30 minutes.  We are still swaddling her (with her arms out) for naps and night time.  As soon as you put her in the swaddle, she puts her thumb in her mouth!  She knows that it's time to go to sleep!

Other-Anna is sitting up really well on her own.  Occasionally she will fall over, but not very often.  When she does fall over it's usually to the side because she's trying to reach for a toy.  Once she's over she rolls EVERYWHERE!  She can get where ever she wants, and in a matter of seconds!  She will also get on her knees and rock, but she hasn't quite figured out the crawling thing yet.  She's also getting better at trying to go from laying to sitting.  She can get about half way up, but she just doesn't have the strength yet to push herself the rest of the way up.  Her mobility is causing a little bit of stress for her older brother!  He's learning that he has to pick up his toys, or Anna is going to get them!  It's been great for Mommy though.  He picks up his toys without me having to fuss at him!

Anna has learned a new trick!  She can clap (patty cake)!  She claps all the time!!!!  She claps when you say "Yay Anna!" and she claps when you say "Patty cake, patty cake."  It's really cute!

Anna also had her first night away from Mommy this month.  Mommy and Daddy went to spend the night with David and Mary Beth, so Ethan and Anna went to Gigi and Pappy's for the night.  It was hard on Mommy, but she survived!  I think Anna was pretty happy to see her Mommy the next day though.  She cried whenever someone else held her!

7 Months

Weight-??? (15.10 at 6 months)

Length-??? inches (26.5 at 6 months)

Clothes-3-6 months

Eating-Every 3 hours.  Since I am nursing her we don't really know how much she is eating.  She still eats for about 8-10 minutes at a time.  We have started Anna on vegetables and fruits.  The girl LOVES her vegetables!  You can't feed them to her fast enough.  She especially loves peas.  The only food she hasn't liked so far is peaches.  She clamps her mouth and you can't force them in no matter how hard you try!

Other-Anna said her first word...Da Da!  (Don't worry, Ethan said Ma Ma first!)  Adam was so excited to hear her say that!  About two weeks after she said dada, she started saying mama.  She still says dada more, but she can say mama too.  She definitely knows who her daddy is, too!  She can't wait for Adam to come in and kiss her good night.  She listens for him to close Ethan's door and then she cranes her head to look for him.  As soon as he walks in the door her whole face lights up and she grins from ear to ear!  She won't eat or pay any attention to me until he's gone.  She loves her mommy too!  She throws a fit if I don't pick her up as soon as I walk into a room!  If she's in her exersaucer and I walk in to the living room she cries and whines until I pick her up.  She will even do this when she's sitting on her daddy's lap.  I think she's going to be a bit of a drama queen!

Eating-Every 3 hours.  Since I am nursing her we don't really know how much she is eating.  She still eats for about 8-10 minutes at a time.  The night before she turned 6 months old we fed her rice cereal for the first time.  She did really well with it, although she doesn't quite understand the concept of the spoon!

Other-Anna is rolling from front to back and back to front.  However, she only rolls in one direction!  She can make her way across the room pretty quickly!  This past month Anna had two different traveling experiences.  The first was to Ashville, NC for Adam's summer regional meeting.  She did really well adjusting to a different schedule while we were there.  She also got lots of attention!  Everyone that she met commented on her smile!  They couldn't believe how much she smiles!  She also traveled to Mexico this summer!  She was a super traveler on the airplane!  I'm so thankful that we have the double stroller.  It made traveling with a 5 month old and a 2 year old so much easier!  Anna spent her vacation time sleeping, playing (she's really into chewing and playing with her toys), swimming, and eating!  For the most part we were able to keep her on her schedule, even with the time change.  Again, everyone that met her commented on how much she smiled!  We spent most of our time at the pool and not the beach, so we almost forgot to let her touch the ocean for the first time!  Thankfully we remembered before we left!  She really liked the sand and the water.  She kept curling up her toes and playing with the sand.  She is still such a happy baby and we are so blessed to have her!
