Eating-Every 2.5-3.5 hours. Since I am nursing him we don't really know how much he is eating, but we think around 4-5 ounces. He usually eats for about 20-25 minutes at each feeding. We are still giving him 2 ounces of formula at night to help him sleep better. He has started spitting up a little more, but the doctor said this was normal and we shouldn't be concerned.
Sleep-Between 5-7 hours a night. Most nights I feed him around 10:00 and put him to bed around 10:30. He does really well at putting himself to sleep. All we have to do is swaddle him and give him his paci and usually within 5-10 minutes he's out. He will then wake around 4:00 or 4:30 for his middle of the night feeding. After I feed him I put him right back in his bed. He will usually go right back to sleep, however, sometimes we have to get up a few times to put his paci back in his mouth! He is still sleeping in our room in his pack-n-play, so this makes the middle of the night feedings much easier! He is on a really good routine during the day which allows him to nap about 1.5-2 hours in between each feeding. This has also helped him to sleep better at night!
Other-Ethan started really smiling and talking around 5-6 weeks old! He's most talkative after his morning feeding! He just smiles and talks like he's really trying to carry on a conversation with me! He still loves looking at his mommy when someone else is holding him. He's starting to look for daddy now too. He doesn't let the two of us get out of his sight very often. I've been reading the book "Baby Wise" and trying their method of eat, play, sleep. It seems to really be helping him. He usually eats at 8:00, 11:00, 2:00, 5:00, 8:00, 10:00, and 4:00. After each feeding he usually stays awake for about 45-60 minutes. During his play time he likes to read books, sing songs, swing, sit in the bouncy seat, and cuddle with mommy and daddy. He usually lets you know when he's ready for his nap. He starts to get a little cranky. Then I swaddle him, give him his paci, and put him down and he goes right to sleep. Sometimes he will wake up before his next feeding, but not very often (mommy is getting a lot more done now that he's on a regular nap time schedule). He's really starting to become more alert and he tries to interact with us more and more. Charlie still doesn't show a whole lot of interest in Ethan. He pretty much just leaves him alone. He is still so easy going! He loves to be held and his neck is getting strong enough that he can sit up against your body without falling over. Life with Ethan is amazing! It's hard to remember what I did in all of my spare time before he was here!
Here are some of my favorite pictures of my sweet two month old baby!
He's already starting to do some more really fun things! I can't wait to share about it in his 3 month post!
