Celebrating Emily Kate!

Our good friends Dave and Mary Beth are expecting their first child in June.  Adam and Dave have been best friends since third grade and Mary Beth and I have grown very close since she and Dave started dating.  We are so excited about this little girl!  Mary Beth and I had talked a few years ago about having kids around the same time so our kids could grow up together.  I just never thought the timing would work out for it to really happen!  Ethan and Emily will be around 12 weeks apart.  I just know that these two kids are going to be great friends!

We were blessed with the privilege of helping Dave and Mary Beth celebrate their little girl the past two weekends!  The first shower was in Campbellsville and was hosted by Kaylene (Adam's mom).  Since we live just 20 minutes away, Adam and I decided to attend.  Adam and Dave got to hang out, while Ethan and I visited with the shower guests.  Emily got so many nice things...including a ton of really cute clothes!  Here are some pictures from the Campbellsville shower.

The next weekend I helped to host another shower for Mary Beth.  This shower was a friends shower and it was held in Louisville.  The day turned out to be absolutely beautiful and we had a great turnout at the shower!  It was so nice to just relax with friends while we celebrated the upcoming arrival of another sweet baby.  Since I was helping to host the shower I was too busy to take many pictures.  However, I did get a priceless one of all of the guys after the shower was over.

After the shower Adam, Ethan, and I met my parents, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, and cousins for dinner.  My cousin, Abbe, ran in the Derby City marathon that morning, so we had to meet up with them while everyone was in town.  We had a great time, and of course everyone loved on Ethan the whole time!  It was really nice being able to eat with two hands!  The evening ended with a nasty storm, which caused us to not be able to leave the restaurant.  So, we got to spend even more time with my family, oh well!
