We first found out the gender of our sweet baby at our 20 week appointment on Thursday, November 10. However, we wanted to do something special to announce the gender to our families! Since we had to share the news that we were expecting to both sets of parents at different times, we thought it would be nice to announce the gender to the grandparents-to-be all together!
On Friday night, we traveled to Louisville with Adam's parents and met my parents for dinner at Buca di Beppo. My mom tried really hard to get me to "slip" up and reveal the secret early, but it didn't happen! Adam's mom was worried that we would make her wait until dessert before we shared the news, but that didn't happen either!
After everyone arrived and we had a chance to order our food (I was STARVING!), we finally made our announcement. I began by giving Adam a birthday gift (we were also there to celebrate his upcoming birthday), which disclosed the gender of the baby. However, Adam opened the gift, and wrapped it back up before anyone else could see what was inside! After making the parents wait a few more minutes, he casually said that Baby Poff would need a different kind of UK outfit (besides the cheerleading outfit that our niece has), because no SON of his was going to be wearing a skirt! Of course everyone cheered (which would have happened either way)! This will be the first Poff grandson and the second Dickerson grandson!
We spent the rest of the evening talking about the upcoming addition to the family and enjoying our wonderful dinner! Here are some of the pictures that we took to remember the evening:

It was a very special night and I was sad when we had to say goodbye! We are so blessed to have such wonderful parents, and I know that our son is going to have the BEST grandparents around!
