20 Weeks

This week: The baby is about seven inches long (the length of a banana) and weighs 11 ounces!  The baby is now swallowing several ounces of amniotic fluid each day.  The taste of the anmiotic fluid differs from day to day depending on what I've eaten!  The baby is still moving like crazy, but it also spends around 12 to 14 hours a day sleeping.

Weight gain: +0, Total weight gain, +8.

How I'm feeling: I still feel great!  However, I haven't been sleeping well for the past 2 months or so.  I usually wake up around 2:00 to use the restroom, and from then on I toss and turn until my alarm clock finally goes off.

20 Week Appointment:  Our 20 week appointment was on Thursday and everything is looking great!  We met with the other doctor in our practice this time.  I really like both doctors and will be happy with either one delivering our little one!  Dr. Reynolds said that my weight gain and my belly were right on track.  He also said that I should slow down my walking a tad...we will have to see about that!  We also had our anatomy ultrasound (yes, we know the gender, but we aren't ready to share just yet), and Baby Poff is weighing in at 12 ounces.  The ultrasound tech said that our baby looked pretty!  Right now the baby's head is on the left side of my belly with the feet on the right side.  I also have an anterior placenta, so she said it could be a little longer before I really start to feel distinct movements.  We go back in another 4 weeks and I will have to take the glucose test at that time.  Tomorrow night we are taking both sets of parents out to dinner to share the news!  We can't wait!!!

Here is this week's picture:
