Sharing Our News!

We have had so much fun sharing our exciting news with our family and friends!  We started with Adam's sister, Andrea.  After our appointment was over, we went to his parents' store,where Andrea also works.  Adam told me to wait in the back so she wouldn't see me.  Andrea was in her office working, so he gave the ultrasound pictures to our niece, Abby, and told her to take the pictures to her mommy.  Abby ran right to Andrea's office and gave her the pictures.  My name wasn't on the ultrasound pictures, so it took Andrea a few seconds to figure out what was going on!  Adam then came to get me from the back so we could fill Andrea in on the details together!

That evening we went to share the news with Adam's grandparents, and his work partner, Bruce.  They were all so excited (and not very shocked) about our news!  By the time we got back to our house my face was hurting from smiling so much!  Adam had a meeting that evening, so we had to put sharing our news on hold!  Adam enjoyed making several phone calls to share the news with the rest of his family and close friends over the next few days!

I wanted to take a more creative approach when telling my family.  As you know, the only people that knew were my mom and dad, so I mailed this cute little card to the rest of my family! 

It was so much fun waiting for the phone calls to begin!  My cousin, Abbe, was the first one to call!  I was so excited to finally be able to share the news with her and tell her all about my pregnancy so far!  That evening we also heard from my sisters, Katlynne and Emily, my brother, Josh, and my cousins, Paige and Ben.  The next day we finally heard from my grandparents and my Aunt Sherry!  It was such a fun way to announce our big news!  I've never been so excited about receiving phone calls before in my life!

We also had to share our news with our close friends, Dave and Mary Beth.  We were already planning on taking a vacation with them in October, so Adam decided that we would use that to tell them!  We called them up after our 12 week appointment and asked if we could bring someone else with us on our trip.  They both wanted to know who we wanted to bring before they said yes or no!  Adam told them that the person we were going to bring was someone that would call them "Aunt" and "Uncle".  It took them a few minutes but Mary Beth finally caught on!  They were both very excited about our news!  Hopefully we will soon have a little playmate for our baby (no pressure guys!). 

That Saturday we traveled to Lexington to watch the UK vs UofL game with some of our other close friends.  We had already decided before we left that we would make our announcement during the game.  It was hard to not say anything, and after what seemed like forever, Adam was finally ready to share our news.  He pulled the ultrasound pictures out of my purse, held them up in the air, and asked, "I want to know who did this to my wife!"  It took the guys a little longer to figure it out than it did the girls, but it was fun to see the reactions on everyone's faces!  The girls spent the rest of the evening talking about babies, future plans, etc, while the guys watched a very terrible game for UK!

That next week we finally shared our news with the world of Facebook.  We received so many wonderful comments from so many wonderful people!  We definitely feel loved!  We know that this baby is going to be surrounded by so many people that care so much about him/her and us!
