Eating-Every 3.0-3.5 hours.  Since I am still nursing him we don't really know how much he is eating, but we think around 6-7 ounces.  He usually eats for about 8-10 minutes at each feeding.  A few weeks ago we switched him over to oatmeal cereal and he LOVES it!  He is such a good eater!  When he sees his bib, the container of baby food, or one of his bowls, he knows what's going to happen next!  He gets so excited and starts babbling and kicking his feet!  We have also started him on vegetables.  So far he has liked everything we have given him, except for peas.  Peas did not go over well!  After a little perseverance, we got him to finally eat them, but he still doesn't love them!  He is still only eating after of a jar of baby food at each meal.  I tried feeding him the whole jar and his belly was so full that he didn't want to eat at his night time feeding.  I was one sad mama for about two days, but then I decided to cut back on his baby food and he went right back to eating again.  I wasn't ready to give up that feeding yet!!!

Sleep-Between 11-12 hours a night!  He is so easy to put down for a nap or for bed!  All he needs is his blanket and his thumb and he's fast asleep.  He is still taking three naps each day.  He is getting better about his naps too.  He will usually take one 1.5-2.0 hour nap each day.  Sometimes it's his morning nap and sometimes it's his afternoon one.  He is usually awake for about 2-2 1/2 hours in between naps.

Other-This past month has brought a lot of changes!  Here is a recap of all of the milestones Ethan reached!

  • He popped through the two bottom teeth.  The right one came first, then a few days later came the left one.  He did really well with it too!  We didn't even know that he had them until a day or two after it popped through.  I just happened to stick my finger in and feel his gum and I was shocked at what I found!  Adam did the same thing a few days later and found the second one.
  • He can now say Mama, Dada, and Bye Bye!  Bye Bye was his first word.  He also waves his hand when he says it.  He will say it anytime you put his coat on him or when you put him in his car seat.  He will also say it when he's bored and ready for some new scenery.  Mama was his second word.  I was the last one to hear it!  Loffie and Adam both said he would say it over and over when he was sleepy, hungry, or upset.  Adam says it's his distress call (that's right, he knows who to call when he needs something!).  Dada was his third word.  He usually says this when he's happy and playing.  I guess that's what he thinks of his daddy!
  • He rolls ALL over the place!  He can get where ever he wants by rolling!  He has also learned how to scoot on his belly so if he's not facing the right direction he scoots first, then rolls to get what he wants.    He loves the knobs on the entertainment center!  As soon as he sees them he is on his way over to them.  There is no point putting a blanket down anymore.  He stays on it for a total of 2 seconds!
  • He is also getting up on all fours, but he hasn't crawled yet.  He has learned how to push himself backwards though.  This move caused his to get stuck underneath the couch at the babysitter's house one day!  He didn't seem to mind it though!
  • He loves to pick things up.  It's pretty amazing how strong he is!  He can lift some of his toys that are pretty heavy.  The bigger the object is, the more fun it is to try and pick it up!
  • This past month we also celebrated Ethan's first Halloween.  While we didn't do much trick-or-treating (we just went to Grandmother's and Sue and Bruce's), he still had fun watching all of the kids come to our house for candy.  I must say, he was the cutest pumpkin in the whole neighborhood!
  • This past month PopPop had to have surgery, so Nana wasn't able to keep him like she usually does on Thursdays.  Our babysitter had a doctor's appointment and had to take the day off, so we asked Sue and Bruce to keep him.  I think they really enjoyed spending the day with our sweet boy!  I'm glad that they were able to get to know him a little better.  He is such an easy going baby and he really is happy most of the time!  We are so lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives that love our little boy and are willing to watch him for us!
Here are some of the latest pictures of this growing boy!
