30 Weeks-It's Still a Boy!!!

This week: The baby is eighteen inches from head to toe and weighs over three pounds (our little guy weighs 3 pounds 6 ounces to be exact)!  This week he is making faces, hiccuping, swallowing, breathing, pedaling with his little hands and feet, and even sucking his thumb.  We were able to actually see him breathing during our ultrasound!  It was really neat!

Weight gain: +2, Total weight gain, +20.  I was a little worried about my weight gain, but my doctor didn't seem too concerned.  That made me feel a little better!

How I'm feeling: I still feel great!  We had our 30 week appointment and ultrasound today!  It was so neat to get to see him again!  It's amazing how much he has grown over the past 10 weeks!  I didn't get a measurement of his head, but his abdomen is in the 48th percentile and his legs are in the 52nd percentile.  He currently weighs 3 pounds 6 ounces, which is measuring just a few days over 30 weeks.  We also got confirmation that he is still a BOY!  The ultrasound tech showed us his umbilical cord, heart, and kidneys.  She said that everything looks really good.  She even showed us the hair that is growing on the back of his head!  She also said that he is positioned head down.  When I had my appointment with the doctor he said that the baby has already descended into my pelvis.  He said this was a good thing for two reasons.  1) His head fits into my pelvis, which means I will be able to deliver him without a c-section.  2) It will be harder, but not impossible, for him to turn because his head is already down low.  The doctor didn't have any concerns about how things are progressing.  He does want to do another ultrasound at 36 weeks to check his growth and position one last time (of course I didn't argue with that).  We go back again in 2 more weeks.  This weekend we have our first baby shower!  Look for a special "Baby Shower" edition coming to the blog soon!

Here is this week's picture:

Just for fun, here are pictures from 10, 20, and 30 weeks!  Look at that baby grow!  I can't even imagine what my belly will look like 10 weeks from now!
