Length-?? inches (up from 29.00 inches at nine months)
Clothes-9-12 months
Diapers-size 3
Eating-Every 4.5-5.0 hours. Since I am still nursing him we don't really know how much he is eating, but we think around 7-8 ounces. He usually eats for about 8-10 minutes at each feeding. We recently cut out our 2:00 feeding. Now he is eating breast milk and cereal (mixed with about 2 ounces of milk) around 8:00, breast milk and a jar of vegetables around 12:00, breast milk and a jar of fruits around 5:00, and nursing again before bed at 8:00.
Sleep-Between 11-12 hours a night! He is so easy to put down for a nap or for bed! All he needs is his blanket and his thumb and he's fast asleep. He is still taking two good naps each day. He will usually take one 1.5-2.0 hour nap each day. Sometimes it's his morning nap and sometimes it's his afternoon one. He is usually awake for about 2-2 1/2 hours in between naps. On a good day we can still get an early evening nap out of him, but those days are becoming fewer and farther between!
Other-This past month has brought a lot of changes! Here is a recap of all of the milestones Ethan reached!
- He now has four teeth! The bottom two and the top two. His two "eye" teeth are really close to coming in too. I would expect them to be in by next month.
- In addition to Mama, Dada, bye bye, Nana and Ho Ho Ho, he can now say "Uh-Oh" and "Hi"! He says "Uh-Oh" very clearly and over and over again! It is usually said before he throws his toys on the floor! I guess he wants to warn you about what he's going to do! It's his favorite game right now!
- He is into EVERYTHING! He has crawled on his knees a few times, but he still prefers to swim on his belly. He can get wherever he wants and he's fast at it! He can squeeze through tiny spaces and he crawls around things to get where he wants to go. It's so funny to watch!
- He can go from laying down to sitting up. The first time he did it was in his bed. He was supposed to be taking a nap, but I could hear him talking on the monitor. I went upstairs to check on him and found him sitting in the corner of his crib. He smiled from ear to ear when I walked in the room! He was so proud of his accomplishment! Now he does it with such ease! He acts like he's been doing it for months!
- He can clap on his own! He was sitting in his highchair one night and we were clapping for something that he did and he just started clapping with us! Of course this caused us to clap even more, when in turn caused him to clap again! It was so cute! Now he claps on demand and he loves for me to sing the song "If You're Happy and You Know It". He will clap to the whole song!
- He loves to shake his head "no". He usually will do it when you ask him a question! It's almost like he's really responding to it! Sometimes he will do it when you're just talking to him too. Right now it's really cute, but I'm sure in the near future I probably won't feel the same way!
- He is started to pull up on things! He especially loves pulling up on the end of his changing table so that he can look over the other side. He doesn't want to miss a thing! Adam and I have both also found him on his knees holding on to the side of his crib. It won't be long before he's standing on his own!
- He gives kisses! They might be a bit slobbery, but they are so sweet. The best time to get kisses from him is when I pick him up at the end of the day at the baby sitters. He greets me with an open mouth and goes straight for my cheek! It's so sweet!!!
- He loves to play in his pack 'n play! We put him in there while we are getting ready and he will just sit in there and play and play. Sometimes we catch him trying to watch us get ready in the mirror. He doesn't miss a thing!
- He still loves knobs and handles. He loves to open drawers! He has recently found my sock drawer (it's the bottom drawer in our dresser). He will open it and then empty it in a matter of minutes! Sometimes he will even carry some of my socks around with him!
- He celebrated his first Christmas this past month. He wasn't as in to unwrapping presents as I thought he would be. His favorite part was tearing the wrapping paper in to tiny little pieces! He also loved to play with the boxes!
Here are some other things that happened during the past month (not every milestone is a good one!):
- He had his first real sickness this past month. It was so pitiful! He ran a temperature of about 102 for three days straight. All he wanted to do was cuddle with his mommy (which I didn't mind at all). His sickness caused us to cancel our family vacation with my family. The doctor did a flu test and it came back negative. They never gave us a real diagnosis but he did put him on an antibiotic and a prescription eye drop. I was very relieved when he was finally feeling better. I hope we don't have to go through that too often!
- He has had several busted lips since he has become mobile! Sometimes he gets tangled up with his feet/shoes and does a face dive into the floor! Every time it has happened he's cried for a few minutes then went right back to playing! He's a tough little guy!
