4 Months...Where has the time gone?

Well, I'm behind again!  This time I have a good excuse...I'm a working mom!  Now that I'm back to work, it's hard to find the time to get on the computer to update the blog.  The only free time that I have is after 8:00 and by that time my brain is pretty fried for the day.

Weight-14.8-50 percentile (up from 13.11 at three months)

Length-25.50 inches-75 percentile (up from 25.25 at three months)

Clothes-3-6 months  We have so many 3-6 month summer clothes that we made the switch shortly after he turned 3 months old.  Mommy has already packed up a huge tub of newborn and 0-3 month clothes.  It was hard to pack up the clothes that he no longer fits into!  It's just a reminder of how fast he is growing!

Diapers-size 2, we moved to these around 13 weeks

Eating-Every 2.5-3.5 hours.  Since I am nursing him we don't really know how much he is eating, but we think around 5-6 ounces.  He usually eats for about 8-10 minutes at each feeding.  He is getting really good at nursing!  It's hard to remember what a struggle it was in the beginning!  The doctor said that we don't have to start him on cereal if we don't want to.  The lactation consultant recommends nothing but breast milk for the first 6 months.  That's our goal as of right now!

Sleep-Between 10-11 hours a night!  We are still swaddling him at naps and at night.  He is taking about 3-4 45 minute naps each day.  We are putting him down around 9:00 each night and he is sleeping until 7:30 or 8:00 the next morning.  We are going to have to work on going to bed a little earlier because he won't have the luxury of sleeping until 8 once Mommy goes back to school!!!!

Other-Ethan is such a happy baby!  He is a bit spoiled, though, and really loves to be held by his mommy and daddy.  He's content just sitting in my lap while I work on the computer or do other work.  He's also content being strapped into the front carrier while Mommy folds laundry or cleans up the kitchen.  He just wants to be with his mommy, and I can't really blame him!  This past month Ethan welcomed another baby (his girlfriend) into the world!  We were so glad to be able to be there when Emily Kate was born!  We can't wait to watch the two of them grow up together!  This past month we also took our first mini-vacation as a family of 3.  Each summer Adam's work sends us to a 4 day summer meeting with all of the families in his region.  This year the meeting was held at Great Wolf Lodge in Ohio.  It was no easy task packing for a baby and two adults for a weekend away, especially since he averages about 3 outfits a day!  I'm not sure how we would have made it without the Tahoe either!  It was packed from floor to ceiling!!!  While we were there Ethan go to meet many new people, spend time with Christen and Jeff, go shopping, time with the babysitter (yikes...Mommy was very nervous about this, but it was a good experience for both of us!) and go swimming in a big pool.  Mommy and Daddy had a chance to catch up with friends, relax, and hang out by the pool!  The resort was very nice and very kid friendly!  I was very thankful that we decided to bring his stroller.  We put him in his car seat and put it in the stroller and we were able to push him through the entire hotel!  This came in very handy considering our room was on the opposite side of the hotel from the conference center!  We learned during this trip that Ethan is very much a people person!  He loved sitting at the table in his stroller and watching everyone.  One day at breakfast his stroller was completely surrounded by girls!  They thought he was pretty cute!  Then they all wanted to hold him, so I made them all sit down and I passed him around the table.  I don't know who enjoyed this more, Ethan or the girls!  He was so good the entire time we were gone, even though we were off his schedule the whole time.  It's good to know that we will be able to travel with him in the future!  Other new things this month, Ethan has learned how to blow bubbles (otherwise known as raspberries).  It's so cute!  He does it with us!  We got a really cute video of it that I'm going to try to post.  We also took a trip to my mom and dad's for the Fourth of July.  It was there where Ethan finally found his thumb!  He has always loved his paci, and he's tried to put his fingers in his mouth a few times, but he just couldn't get it.  However, that all changed on the Fourth of July!  Now we can't keep his thumb out of his mouth!!!  Even if you take one thumb out, he pops the other one right in!  I'm hoping that once he starts to crawl he will break himself of this habit!  Ethan is just growing and changing every day!  I can't believe how much he is learning!  His eye hand coordination is really improving.  He's able to reach out and grab at things.  He still has a hard time getting things into his mouth, but he tries really hard!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of my sweet four month old baby!

Here is the video of him blowing raspberries!
